One of ASK's first jobs was an unexpectedly large one. With windows, full roof, solar panels, house clean and even a pigeon problem....
Peter called me up and did the right thing he ASKed if we were able to do other jobs as advertised on the website, of course after hearing what they were I gladly accepted. He was after his 3kw solar system cleaned, along with 27 windows to be cleaned both inside and out. He also expressed interest in his roof and outside of his house to be cleaned, and as you can see from the photo they were in desperate need of a clean after 16 years.
When arriving he told me about a pigeon problem he was having, which not only was affecting his solar panels but was dirtying his roof considerably. So we set to work, firstly removing a solar panel and relocating the pigeon nest that was buried underneath with some babies on board. After which the roof was cleaned and as a bonus, the gutter was cleaned too which was directly below the pigeon nest which over time had been filled up with sticks and muck from the pigeons.
The square footage of the house was quite large so after it was cleaned the day was coming to an end, but before it was, Peter had given us some bird wire, to try and keep the pigeons from coming back under the panels. This was attached to the inside of the panels, and afterwards the panels were cleaned thoroughly with our DI system. The next day we came back and gave all the windows and outside of the house a clean, and followed through to the inside of the house to clean all 27 windows. By using the DI systems water, we were able to clean all windows without the need for any chemicals.
While cleaning Peter's house we had a stop over from a friendly neighbour John, who was also curious on getting his roof and panels cleaned, but concerned about his gutters which had just been cleaned getting dirty. Fortunately we were able to give him a nice little discount as he was getting a few jobs done, so we set to work the next day to clean both his roof and gutters, and his solar panels in the process. As you can see by the green roof, it came up quite nicely as well.

Suprisingly after only a few days of listing my website I had a call from Jane, she was after her panels cleaned as she noticed a drop in value she was receiving from her Government rebate. She also ASKed and got us to do her gutters and a couple of outside windows that were starting to get dirty.
Using the DI system we were able to clean her panels and windows in no time. My theory and Jane's as well was that the overhead planes were dumping fuel, and some of the residue over time had started to build up. This could be seen upon first inspection as an oil film was definetly present. After which it was cleaned along with gutters and windows we rechecked the power being recieved. As we checked at 12pm the first time, she was recieving 1.2KW/H and after at about 2pm she was getting a reading of 1.62KW/H, many factors could come into this reading, but there is a noticable spike and it was consistant.
For the best results, we recommend a clean every 6-12months, this way the solar effiency is at its optimal and you are getting the best value for money out of your solar system.
